KARACHI: At least 63 more dengue fever cases were detected in Karachi last week, taking the reported cases’ toll to 1,862 since 1st January 2018.
As per the weekly report issued by Prevention and Control Program for Dengue in Sindh, as many as 72 new dengue fever cases reported across the Sindh province in a week; out of these cases, 63 were found in Karachi and nine in other districts.
In December, a total of 233 dengue positive cases has been reported throughout the Sindh province so far; out them 224 in Karachi and nine in other districts.
District East, South, West and Central are most affected districts in Karachi division while dengue cases are also being reported from Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur and Ghotki.
This year, a total of 1,965 dengue cases reported across the province out of which 1,862 were Karachi and 103 in the rest of the province.
Two deaths were also reported from dengue fever in Karachi city this year.
