Zardari soon to be in jail: Haleem Adil Sheikh

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh chapter General Secretary and parliamentary party leader in Sindh assembly, Haleem Adil Sheikh on Sunday claimed that Asif Zardari would be soon in jail for his corruption and misdeeds.

He was speaking at a protest demo against the acute shortage of water in Karachi. A large number of PTI activists led by Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Haleem Adil Sheikh and MPAs elected from Karachi were part of the protest.

The protestors raised slogans of ‘give water to Karachi’ and held the provincial government of Sindh responsible for the persisting crisis.

Addressing the demo, he said that Zardari should give details of what money when where in the past 11 years.

He said that the government of Imran Khan would not let go the thieves of sugar, the rule of Anwar Majeed’s uncle would not be tolerated, and corruption mafia would be made accountable for every penny of the looted money as the inquiry into the corruption of Rs300billion has been started.

Haleem Adil charged that Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah is also not innocent, as the key of the Sindh’s finance department is with him. He said the chief minister is generous in signing subsidies for the Omni Group, but his pen goes dry when the matter of giving financial assistance of the poor people of Thar comes up.

He said that the city has no drinking water and plenty of overflowing gutter water, adding that local government minister Saeed Ghani would also be made accountable for his corruption.

Further, Firdous Shamim Naqvi said that the PPP is afraid of making a Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Sindh Assembly.

He said that the rulers of Sindh are not capable of giving water to Karachi. He said they are ruling the province for the last 11 years but have failed to deliver.
