–Chief Minister Usman Buzdar says ‘captain’ has put country on right track

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Saturday chaired a seven-hour-long meeting of provincial cabinet members, wherein ministers and secretaries briefed him on the first 100 days’ performance of their respective ministries.

During the meeting, the chief minister sought details of different ministries and attached departments’ measures aimed at benefitting the masses as well as reforms carried out to improve the living standards of the people.

“Departments have worked around-the-clock to set their targets and achieve them. The Punjab government has set its priorities after a detailed review of resources and circumstances of the province,” the chief minister said while addressing the meeting.

Resolving problems of the common man, provision of basic facilities, social and economic justice as well as improvement of the social sector are the government’s priorities, he added.

The chief minister praised the hard work of the ministers which they put in during the first 100 days of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government and said they had to work jointly for the people of the province to prosper.

“The 100-day agenda of the prime minister was all about development and progress,” the chief minister said and gave all officials concerned a two-day time to submit their written plans for the next five years of the government.

Provincial ministers, including Abdul Aleem Khan, Hashim Jawan Bakht, Yasmin Rashid, Sibtain Khan, Mehmoodur Rashid, Mohsin Leghari, Murad Raas, Ansar Majeed, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Ashfaq Riaz, Yasir Hamayun, Malik Nouman Langrial, Sardar Husnain Bahadur Dareshak, Taimoor Khan, spokesperson to the chief minister, Shahbaz Gill; secretaries of departments concerned and other senior officials attended the meeting.

‘COUNTRY ON RIGHT TRACK’:

Separately, Chief Minister Buzdar said that “captain” [Prime Minister Imran Khan] had put the country on the right track to progress and all-out efforts would be made to fulfil the premier’s vision of selflessly serving the masses.

Speaking to a delegation of more than 300 people belonging to different parts of the province, including south Punjab, who called on him at his office, the chief minister said that he had been made the chief minister to resolve their problems.

“People are our power and we consider their problems our own. Solid measures are being taken to improve the living standards of the common man and the era of public prosperity has begun.”

He said that the government respected those officials who resolved problems of the masses and an action will be taken against anyone who does not serve the people.

“I personally monitor action taken on every complaint that is filed by the citizens and the PTI government, within a short period of time, has worked with diligence to facilitate the masses,” he added.

He further said that there was no place for any mafia in Punjab and an indiscriminate action would continue against influential persons misusing their authority.

Earlier, the chief minister listened to the problems of all delegates and issued on-the-spot directions to officials concerned for their redressal. Provincial ministers Murad Raas and Rai Tamoor Khan Bhatti also assured the people of solving their problems at the earliest.
