Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday announced to launch an anti-drug campaign to eliminate the growing menace of contraband items across the country, starting from the federal capital.

According to media reports, PM Imran presided over a meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to review its first 100 days performance. At this occasion, he directed the authorities to prepare “a massive drive to eliminate the menace of contraband items” across the nation.

The premier said, “The anti-drug drive will be initiated from Islamabad [and is] aimed at wiping out the threat of drugs which cause problems for the countrymen.”

Meanwhile, PM Imran was apprised about the first 100 days’ performance of the KP government and implementation of reforms in the tribal areas.

Speaking at a ceremony held in connection with the completion of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s 100 days in office, the prime minister said he wouldn’t hesitate to send ministers packing if they were taking their responsibilities for granted.

He reminded the ministers and officials seated in the audience that all of them needed to go to their offices daily and remain there till the evening, adding that he will know whether or not they are going to their offices.

“And then none of you should say ‘my ministry was taken away from me’ [if you are replaced for not going to work],” PM Imran cautioned.

Earlier in the day, the PM inaugurated a shelter home in the provincial capital for the homeless people.

During his day-long visit to Peshawar, he inaugurated the newly established shelter home located at Pajogi Road. He inspected different sections of the shelter home which has a capacity to provide a roof to 150-200 people.
