KP govt to award scholarship to miners’ children in colleges, universities

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has planned to award scholarships to students who are children of miners and are studying in colleges and universities of the province so that they could continue their studies without any financial constraints.

The children in medical colleges, as well as engineering, veterinary and agriculture universities would get merit based scholarships as per PM Imran Khan’s vision to provide quality education to all.

The children studying in art and architecture, finance arts, textile and other professional colleges and institutes in the country would also get scholarships, officials in KP Mines and Mineral Department told APP on Sunday.

Apart from scholarship, interest free loans would be provided to mining lease holders for mechanization of mining activities for marble and granite in the province.
