The Sindh government on Saturday withdrew notification barring Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) Chairman Manzoor Pashteen from entering the province after it attracted flak on social media over the decision.

In a notification issued by the Home Department on Friday, the government had banned Pashteen’s entry in Sindh for three months on the pretext of “law and order”.

“Pashteen provokes the public through inflammable and hate speeches against the state and law enforcement agencies (LEAs), posing great ‘threat’ to the peace within the area of District Malir Karachi,” the notification read.

On Saturday evening, the government reportedly agreed to suspend the notification as confirmed by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and former senator Farhatullah Babar. However, an official confirmation is yet to be issued.

“CM Sindh has ordered withdrawal of expulsion order of Manzoor Pashteen. Thank you Chairman BBZ, CM Murad. It is not victory of one and defeat of other. It is triumph of sanity over insanity. All have shown maturity. Am confident that PTM also looks at it like this,” he tweeted.
