By-polls: Voting underway for PB-47 seat in Balochistan

QUETTA: Voting is currently underway for Balochistan Assembly seat PB-47, Kech-III.

It has been reported that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has declared all 60 polling stations extremely sensitive and have deployed levies force and Frontier Corps personnel in those areas.

The polling began at 8 am and will continue till 5 pm. Moreover, a public holiday has been declared in the Kech district by the provincial government owing to the by-election.

During the 2018 general election, Balochistan Awami Party’s (BAP) Abdul Rauf Rind had emerged as the successful candidate on PB-47. However, ECP had declared the election null and void as Rind was a dual national.
