Kissan Ittehad stages sit-in at Charing Cross against govt

LAHORE: The Pakistan Kissan Ittehad (PKI) on Wednesday called a sit-in at Charing Cross, Mall Road in order to press the government to meet their demands.

The farmers demanded that manure and urea are sold at their old rates. In addition to that, PKI is demanding that the government announces the rate for sugarcane and makes outstanding payments.

PKI started the protest on Tuesday night in the city and reached Thokar Niaz Baig from Multan Road earlier during the day. Following the announcement of the sit-in, heavy security has been deployed in the various areas of the city.
