CM Buzdar for promotion of ties with UAE, Cuba

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar Wednesday discussed various issues of bilateral interests and called for promoting bilateral cooperation in different sectors while speaking to Cuban and UAE ambassadors, who held separate meetings with him at his office.

During the meeting with Cuban Ambassador Gabriel Tiell Capote, promotion of cooperation in healthcare and other sectors came under discussion.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that they had come to power in the name of change and the government was fully committed to bringing positive changes in the lives of the common man.

He said that Cuba has made its health sector a role model for others and the system implemented there was exemplary. “The Punjab government is ready to benefit from Cuban expertise in the health sector and steps will be taken to promote trade, culture and investment with Cuba.”

Earlier, during the meeting with the ambassador of UAE, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zabi, it was agreed that economic ties and investment between the two countries would be promoted.

CM Buzdar appreciated UAE’s cooperation in the development of the country, adding that the collaboration was highly valued by every Pakistani.

“We want to further strengthen the mutual ties in various sectors, including trade, investment, energy, water projects, culture and tourism,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zabi said that Pakistan was his second home and bilateral relations would further be strengthened.

“The leadership of UAE is standing with Pakistan and we will provide every sort of cooperation to you.”

He said that UAE’s companies were interested to invest in Pakistan and wanted to invest in special economic zones in water and energy-related projects.

CM’s spokesperson Dr Shahbaz Gill, Advisor Akram Chaudhry, P&D chairman, principal secretary and others were also present during the meetings.
