Third Test: Pakistan 81-2 ante-tea break

ABU DHABI: Pakistan is 81 for the loss of both its openers as the play on the second day is paused for a tea break. Azhar Ali and Haris Sohail are playing at 34 and 30 respectively.

Earlier, Pakistan bowling attack disrupted New Zealand batting line-up on 274 on the second day of the decisive Test in Abu Dhabi today.

New Zealand started batting at 229-7 as leg-spinner Yasir Shah eyed the world record of fastest 200 Test wickets.

Shah, who took three wickets on the first day to take his total to 198 in what is his 33rd Test, is only two wickets short to Australian leg-spinner Clarrie Grimmett’s 200 in 36 Tests, made 82 years ago.

Kiwi skipper Williamson and wicketkeeper Watling remained top-scorers with 89 and 77 (not-out) respectively.

Spinner Bilal Asif and Yasir Shah took five and three wickets apiece to restrict New Zealand to 274 before the lunch break.

Pakistan has started batting with Imam ul Haq and Muhammad Hafeez opening the batting line-up for green shirts.
