SUKKUR: Former opposition leader in the National Assembly and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Syed Khurshid Shah Monday said they were sticking to the “wait and watch” policy.
“The incumbent government’s economic policies are highly flawed and lack vision. An inflation bomb has already been dropped on the people as the prices of petroleum, gas and electricity have been jacked,” he said during an informal conversation with journalists.
“After annihilating the economy, the annihilation of national heritage has been started,” he said while referring to the government’s decision of demolishing Governor House Lahore’s boundary walls.
He lamented the government was trying to damage historical sites while nations did everything to protect their national heritage. “It [government] is working against international traditions.”
To a question, Khurshid said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan had been “befooling” the masses for several years. “He will have to deliver on the promises he has made to the people and we will continue to remind him about everything he used to say.”
Khurshid warned that the government would have to fulfil its promises or the people will “send it packing”.
