PM appoints Usman Dar as special adviser on youth affairs

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday appointed Usman Dar as the special adviser to the prime minister on youth affairs and said the government would introduce a national youth policy.

Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Chairman Usman Dar held a meeting with the premier to finalise the appointment.

A notification was later issued by the Cabinet Division regarding the appointment.

Furthermore, the premier announced that  Naya Pakistan Youth Programme will be introduced in the coming days in addition to the national youth policy.

“I will not become a burden on the national exchequer,” Dar said while announcing that he will not draw a salary for the post.

“We will spend money on the youth and not on laptops. I will work with the prime minister to empower youth to become independent,” he added.

“Dar is the best choice to overlook the youth policy,” PM Imran said.

“If the youth did not support this, we may not have been in power today. We will provide the youth with facilities which have never been given before,” the premier emphasised.
