KARACHI: A 24-year-old employee at a restaurant was injured after being shot at by reported extortionists in Kharadar region of the provincial capital on Monday morning.
The alleged extortionists had thrown a piece of paper inside the restaurant premises, demanding Rs 1 million. According to police the employee was injured after he refused to pay.
“The paper has an international number listed on it and it appears that the staffer was shot after he refused to pay extortion money,” said police officials.
Sindh Inspector General Kaleem Imam has summoned a report over the incident.
Police have registered a case over the matter and investigations are currently underway.
