‘Family Park’ to be constructed in Peshawar’s Governor House

ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government approved the construction of a family park within the premises of Governor House in Peshawar.

KP Minister for Information Shaukat Yousafzai told a private news channel on Monday that a portion of the Governor House will be set aside for construction of a family park, which will be equipped with all facilities including security.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had directed to open the Governor House for the public, he added.

The approval for opening the family park was given in a meeting chaired by Governor Shah Farman, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and KPK Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai also present.

In Sep, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government opened the historic Governor House for general public. The palatial building will remain open from 10am to 4pm every Sunday.

The provincial government announced to open the palatial building to public on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

A spokesman of the Governor House said initially the Governor’s House would remain open on Sundays.
