KARACHI: Sindh Police on Monday claimed to have arrested 1,581 accused, including 406 absconders and 309 proclaimed offenders, in a week from different parts of the province.
The spokesman for the police said that the city police arrested 426 accused, including 46 absconders, two proclaimed offenders and 378 others. Police also recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.
Hyderabad police nabbed 282 accused, including 37 absconders, 18 proclaimed offenders and 227 others, and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.
As many as 42 accused, including four absconders, three proclaimed offenders and 35 others were apprehended by Mirpurkhas police. Shaheed Benazirabad police rounded up 183 criminals, including 74 absconders, 18 proclaimed offenders and 91 others. Around 91 accused, including 14 absconders, 14 proclaimed offenders and 63 others, were arrested from Sukkur while Larkana police arrested 557 accused, including 231 absconders, 254 proclaimed offenders and 72 others.
The spokesman further said that cases against all arrested have been registered and police were conducting raids for apprehending their other accomplices while further investigations were also initiated.
