Our ministers visited Kartarpur only to offer prayers: Sushma Swaraj

Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj Saturday said that Indian ministers had only visited Pakistan to “offer prayers” in the Kartarpur gurdwara.

“Let me explain to you that we were not trapped by your ‘googlies’. Our two Sikh ministers went to Kartarpur Sahib to offer prayers in the holy gurudwara,” she tweeted while responding to Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s statement.

On Thursday, Qureshi had said that the prime minister had put India in a conundrum with the move to open the Kartarpur border corridor. PM Imran had “bowled a googly at India by opening the Kartarpur border corridor”, he had remarked.

Reacting to her Pakistani counterpart’s statement, Sushma took to Twitter and said, “Mr Foreign Minister of Pakistan – Your ‘googly’ remarks in a dramatic manner has exposed none but YOU. This shows that you have no respect for Sikh sentiments. You only play ‘googlies’.”
