Nawaz, Shehbaz discuss future course at NAB office

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members on Sunday called on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif at the Lahore office of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to discuss the future course.

According to media reports, the meeting continued for more than an hour. Maryam Nawaz, Nusrat Shehbaz, Hamza Shehbaz and other members of the Sharif family were also present on this occasion. They had also brought a homemade meal for the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly, they added.

Later, all the family members left but Hamza and Nawaz. They talked to the incarcerated leader for a little while longer, reports said , adding that the Sharif family discussed the prevailing political situation, NAB cases and party affairs.

Moreover, a meeting was held between Nawaz, Shehbaz and Lahore NAB DG Shahzad Saleem during which the PML-N supremo expressed his reservations with the interrogation process, media reports said.

“Only the Sharif family is being targeted,” he said. The former prime minister remarked that there is no air in the room where Shehbaz is being kept.

The director general, according to reports, said that Shehbaz is being provided with all facilities. “The progress depends on cases, not faces,” he remarked.

It is pertinent here to mention that on November 26, both PML-N leaders had met to discuss the NAB cases and political situation in the country.

On October 5, NAB arrested Shehbaz Sharif inside its Lahore office where he was summoned to record his statement in connection with the Punjab Saaf Pani Company case.

Shehbaz Sharif is facing corruption charges in a number of cases. The accountability watchdog had arrested him over his alleged involvement in multi-billion rupees housing scam, the Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing Project.
