Renowned pashto poet Umar Daraz Marwat breathes his last

LAKKI MARWAT: Pashto poet Umar Daraz Marwat passed away Thursday night in Lakki Marwat, leaving behind a rich literary legacy of almost 110 books.

As per details, he will be laid to rest on Friday at Takhti Khel, Lakki Marwat at 3pm.

Marwat, popularly referred to as the ‘Khitmatgar‘ of Pashto literature, served as the chief editor of the Pashto magazine Sheikh Badin and was well known among Pashto literary circles.

The renowned poet was suffering from an abdominal ailment which was being treated at the Khyber Teaching Hospital.

However, further details of his ailment were not known as doctors informed that such things are only shared with close relatives, asserting that he was being provided with professional care. While the tests had been carried out, doctors delayed surgery due to a worsening pulmonary condition he had developed.
