The government has not been able to recover the disputed land of Government Girls’ High School, 110/7-R in Sahiwal from the illegal occupation of local residents Nasir Mahmood and Zulfiqar Ali, a local media house reported.

According to the report, the one kanal land was asked to be retrieved by the revenue department in 2011 under Section 32 of the Colonization of Government Land Act V, 1912.

Having said that, the local residents had received a stay order from a senior civil judge which was dismissed by the court in 2015.  The school has 950 students and 30 teachers and has no boundary wall since its inception around 60 years ago.

It was also reported that “following the attack on Peshawar Army Public School in 2014, the local educational administration demarcated the land for boundary wall”.

It was during this time that Nasir and Zulfiqar “extended their animal farm and house fence to the disputed land”.
