ISLAMABAD: Pakistan lodged a strong protest with Bangladesh on Tuesday after a burglary at the Pakistani High Commission in the capital Dhaka.
Computers were stolen from the Pakistani High Commission’s consular section by unknown men who had broken into the premises, said Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal.
A First Information Report (FIR) was registered with the local police with the Foreign Office of Bangladesh also informed over the matter.
Furthermore, Pakistan also requested for improved security from their Bangladeshi counterparts.
“The Bangladesh authorities have been requested to carry out a thorough investigation, share a detailed report with us and bring the culprits to justice,” the spokesperson said while expressing grave concern at the incident.
“It is the responsibility of the Bangladesh government to provide full security to the Pakistan High Commission premises,” he emphasised.
