Czech model starts crying in court over prolonged hearings

LAHORE: Czech model Teresa, indicted for smuggling heroin to United Arab Emirates (UAE), started crying in the court over long hearings on Tuesday.

The foreign model said that she was tired of attending court hearings every day but there was no progress in the case. She wondered when the case would be decided.

The hearing was adjourned without any proceedings while the crying model was shifted to Bakhshi Khana.

21-year-old Teresa, who belongs to the Czech Republic, was taken into custody from the Allama Iqbal International Airport in January when she had attempted to smuggle 9 kg heroin to the UAE.

The recovered drugs were worth Rs150 million in the international market.

The woman had managed to pass through two security checks before the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and customs officials had taken her into custody.

The court in April had indicted the foreign model for smuggling heroin.

The hearing of drugs smuggling case by the foreign model was held by Additional Sessions Judge Shahid Bashir.
