ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi Monday conferred Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) upon Commander of the UAE Naval Forces Rear Admiral Sheikh Saeed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, during an Investiture Ceremony held here.
UAE Ambassador in Islamabad Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi and senior military, as well as civil officers, were also present on the occasion.
Rear Admiral Sheikh Saeed bin Hamdan also called on the president after the ceremony and thanked him for the honour.
The UAE Navy chief said that his country attached great importance to the close cordial and fraternal relations with Pakistan and was keen to further strengthen the political, economic and trade relations between the two countries.
He praised the role of Pakistan’s military in the war against terrorism and called to join hands to overcome the menace that was a threat to the entire region.
The bilateral relations between Pakistan and UAE, which were established by Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, are deeply rooted in shared faith and heritage, Sheikh Saeed added.
