The nephew of Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Pir Noorul Haq Qadri was alleged of his involvement in a luxury car robbery case in Islamabad, local media reported.

According to the report, Qadri’s nephew Zulkafal Qadri was nominated in FIR of the case in which a luxury vehicle worth Rs 15 million owned by the son of a local trader was snatched in Islamabad.

In the FIR lodged in Shalimar police station, complainant Amjad Saeed alleged that his son was subjected to brutal torture by the minister’s nephew and armed guards. He added that the attackers also tried to abduct his son.

Responding to the case, the federal minister refuted the allegations and said that his nephew was not involved in any robbery.

In November, a Supreme Court-mandated joint investigation team (JIT) to probe alleged abuse of power by Minister for Science and Technology Azam Swati reportedly held the lawmaker and his employees responsible for the altercation that took place at his farmhouse involving slum dwellers.

In August, PTI Karachi’s Disciplinary Committee declared its verdict in the inquiry held against MPA Dr Imran Shah for assaulting a Karachi citizen.

The committee announced that Shah will donate Rs500,000 as a ‘fine’ to the Edhi Homes Orphanage Centres and also provide free medical treatment to 20 orthopaedic patients recommended by Edhi Trust.
