SRINAGAR: A complete shutter-down strike was observed in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) on Monday a day after Indian security forces martyred six Kashmiri youths in Shopian district.
According to details, the strike was called by Hurriyat leaders to protest against the barbarism of Indian troops in the occupied valley.
The youth were killed by Indian occupational forces during a cordon and search operation in Shopian.
According to a report following the incident, an unannounced curfew was imposed in the area, while internet and mobile services were also suspended by Indian authorities.
Three days earlier, Indian occupation forces had martyred six more Kashmiri youths in Islamabad district of the held valley during a cordon and search operation in Bijbehara area.
Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Khan Gandapur had also condemned the fresh wave of killing of innocent Kashmiris in the occupied Kashmir by Indian troops.
Condemning the killings in Shopian, the minister asked for a resolution of the issue in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions.
He said Pakistan believed in a peaceful neighbourhood but everyone knows that India rejected the offer of talks. He said India should come to negotiating table for peacefully resolving all bilateral disputes.
