Investigators trace pathway used by Chinese consulate attackers

KARACHI: Local investigation agencies on Sunday managed to trace the pathway used by terrorists who attempted to enter the Chinese consulate on Friday.

On Friday, security forces foiled an attack on the Chinese consulate located in Karachi’s upscale Clifton, killing all three terrorists and seizing at least nine hand grenades, Kalashnikov bullets, magazines and explosives.

According to reports, the miscreants reached Karachi from Hub on the day the attack was carried out. They took the Sher Shah road for Mai Kolachi and reached the consular office using the Boat Basin route.

The terrorists first recceed the area using a rental car before attacking. A CCTV footage is of their pathway is reportedly being collected.
