RAWALPINDI: The regularisation of 30,000 contract-based teachers from primary, middle and high schools across Punjab, including Rawalpindi will take place before December 31.
This was decided in a meeting between the special secretary of schools and Punjab Teachers Union (PTU).
According to media reports, working groups will be formed for the rationalisation of teaching schools and quality education.
It was further decided that in-service promotion cases will be dealt with on an emergency basis, whereas non-teaching duties will be abolished, a window would be established at the district level, the allowance of all headmasters will be increased and information technology (IT) allowance amounting to Rs1000 will be granted to computers teachers.
