ISLAMABAD: Two students groups at the Quaid-e-Azam University, who engaged in violent clashes Tuesday night, resolved their conflict after talks, normalising the situation. The Quaidian Student Federation acted as a mediator between the groups.

As per details, the clashes, in which the students, wielding sticks, beat each other up, erupted due to a petty matter. The incident left several students injured. University property and vehicles were also destroyed in the process.

An intervention by the university administration, police and Rangers personnel ended the clash.

The QUA administration in a meeting Thursday decided that police and Rangers personnel will continue to be deployed at university premises and legal action will be initiated against students involved in the clash.

Student groups in the university have clashed several times in the past years, resulting in injuries and disruption of classes.
