PTI Sindh leader involved in Rs 1.32bn China cutting of state-land

KARACHI: Sindh Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Haleem Adil Sheikh has been allegedly found involved in China cutting of state land worth more than Rs 1.32 billion, Pakistan Today has learnt.

A few weeks ago, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Firdous Shamim Naqvi, who is also the leader of the opposition in the Sindh Provincial Assembly, was on the media’s headlines for his alleged involvement in illegal construction and land grabbing in the port city that resulted in the national exchequer suffering huge losses.

“MPA Haleem Adil Sheikh has allegedly been found China cutting government lands worth more than Rs 1.32 billion in city’s Malir area,” sources confided in Pakistan Today.

According to the sources, the PTI leader and his brother, Aleem Adil Sheikh, have been charged with China cutting by the survey officials of the Board of Revenue.

“The Board of Revenue and Sindh Anti Corruption Establishment have found lands in Dehs 37 to 40 that underwent China cutting by the PTI leader. The board of revenue authorities have forwarded a letter in this regard to the Malir assistant commissioner to resurvey the concerned lands under strict security”, sources added.

In this regard, Karachi Survey Superintendent Syed Muhammad Ali has served a notice u/s 160 CRPC in an inquiry against Haleem Adil Sheikh, Aleem Adil Sheikh and some revenue officers for their involvement in the China cutting.

“The date for demarcation of S.No 37 to 40 Dehs Kharkharo has been fixed on November 30, 2018. You are therefore requested to direct concerned Mukhtiarkar to be present on the site and ensure service of notices upon all the concerned parties/khatedars/department to remain present at the site on the above date of measurement”, states an official letter exclusively available with Pakistan Today.

Attempts to contact Haleem Adil Sheikh for his version remained futile as his cell phone remained switched off the whole day until the filing of the report.
