ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sought a reply from the information secretary for a delay in the suspension of Pashtun Tahafuz Movement’s social media accounts (PTM).

A single-member bench of Justice Amir Farooq conducted the hearing of the case pertaining to misuse of social media by PTM.

Farrukh Nawaz’s lawyer Advocate Raja Rizwan informed the court that accounts of PTM could not be suspended despite the court orders.

He prayed the court to make sure of suspending PTM’s social media accounts. The court adjourned the case for an indefinite period after directing to issue notices to the stakeholders for submitting replies within the next ten days.

It is pertinent to mention here that the IHC while taking sou moto notice of offensive language against the country institutions has directed the information ministry to suspend the social media accounts of PTM. However, the accounts have not been suspended so far.
