Boy set on fire over ‘cricket dispute’

A 14-year old boy was allegedly burnt to death by his friends over a “cricket-related dispute” at Ghuenki village of Tehsil Daska in Sialkot.

During a cricket match, Sahil Masih and Umer Latif had an argument with their friend Sameer Masih, according to police reports.

Two days later, they ambushed him and set him on fire by sprinkling kerosene on his body. The victim suffered serious burns and died as he was being transferred to a local hospital.

Police have registered a case for murder against the suspects, however, no arrests have been made.
