Dr Fakhruddin has been appointed the medical superintendent of Services Hospital in Peshawar despite outstanding charges against him for irregularities in land allotment of official residential quarters in Postgraduate Nursing College Hayatabad.

However, Dr Fakhruddin has denied the charges against him, claiming that allotments were done legally.

Talking to a private media outlet, Health Secretary Dr Syed Farooq Jamil said that he’ll look into the matter and Dr Fakhruddin will be removed if the charges are proved or if performance is not satisfactory.

Health department records also corroborate that the recently appointed medical superintendent unlawfully allotted flats in Postgraduate Nursing College to Peshawar Health Services Academy (PHSA) employees who were not entitled to stay there.

It has also surfaced that Dr Fakhruddin has replaced Dr Jamil Nasir, who had pioneered a telemedicine programme and was set to make it operational in the province. His removal came days after the government released funds for the programme.
