Ex-CJP’s family assaulted by land grabbers in Rawalpindi

The family of former chief justice Saeeduzzaman Siddiqui (late) came under an attack in Rawalpindi by alleged land grabbers on Saturday when they were visiting their plot.

Siddiqui family owns a 600-square yard plot in the Federal Shariat Court Employees Cooperative Housing Society at Murree Judicial Housing Complex, which is being illegally grabbed by the land mafia. Ex-CJ’s son Afnan Saeeduzzaman said his late father had purchased the plot in 1992.

According to Online news agency, The widow and son of Siddiqui were supervising the construction of the boundary wall around their plot, when suspected land grabbers reached there with a gang of hooligans. The land grabbers threatened both mother and son and allegedly open fired on them. The son of late chief justice also filed an FIR at Taret Police Station, Murree. Following the incident, Rawalpindi police chief has taken notice of the incident and called for an inquiry.
