CM set to announce Multan mega development project

MULTAN: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday said he will soon announce a mega development project for Multan, adding that he will pay a detailed visit to the south Punjab city in the coming weeks.

Members of national and provincial assembly of Multan, PTI city president and other senior officials called on the chief minister at the Circuit House, Multan.

CM Buzdar said that all of his members are not less than any CM for him and he will continue meeting with them. He said that development projects worth billions of rupees have been announced for Dera Ghazi Khan, Taunsa and Barthi and similar mega development project for Multan will be announced soon.

He said that he will have a detailed visit to Multan shortly. Furthermore, he added that previous governments ignored south Punjab, including Multan.

“There wouldn’t have been any deprivation in this area if it received attention in past,” he said, adding that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) aims to provide resources to the backward areas.

CM stated, “PTI has bagged votes in the name of change, so change is inevitable.”

He said that nominating MPA of a backward tehsil as chief minister is evidence of actual change.

Talking to the chief minister, the lawmakers said that the development package for DG Khan, Taunsa and Barthi is historic. They added that south Punjab will be a developed area of Punjab during the period as the CM is aware of the issues of people.

Ideas were exchanged for development of south Punjab, especially people of Multan in the meeting.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO AFFECTEES:

CM Buzdar also met injured travellers and families of the deceased in the Ghazi Ghat traffic accident that took place near Dera Ghazi Khan. The CM announced provided financial assistance of Rs 5 lac each to the families of deceased and Rs 75,000 to every individual who got injured.

DEMISE OF HAJI ABDUL WAHAB:

CM Buzdar expressed sorrow over the demise of ameer of Tableeghi Jamat and renowned religious scholar Haji Abdul Wahab. In his condolence message, CM prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and patience for his family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.

He paid tribute to the selfless service of Haji Abdul Wahab for the promotion of Islam and said that he dedicated his life to preaching and his noble services for religion will always be remembered.
