Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and members of his family met Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif at the Lahore office of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday.
The ex-prime minister was accompanied by his daughter Maryam Nawaz, Shehbaz’s wife Nusrat Shehbaz and Hamza Shehbaz during the meeting. The meeting between Shehbaz and his family took place for an hour and a half, media reports said.
Shehbaz, the president of the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former Punjab chief minister, is under NAB’s custody due to his alleged involvement in the Ashiana housing scheme case since last month.
The bureau has stated before an accountability court that the former Punjab chief minister has also been arrested in another case for issuing a directive for the construction of a drain in Chiniot primarily for the use of the Ramzan Sugar Mills, which is owned by his sons.
The accountability court has ordered NAB to produce him again in court on Nov 24.
