Two female lawmakers of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly have been fined for violating traffic rules in Peshawar, a private media outlet reported Saturday.
According to reports, a traffic cop served the ticket to MPA Falik Naz and her friend – also an MPA – for not wearing seatbelts while commuting via the Ring Road.
Despite showing their identity, the police officer issued challans worth Rs200. The car was being driven by one of the provincial lawmaker’s husband.
Both the parliamentarians belong to the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Traffic police have booked at least 50 parliamentarians on the Ring Road so far, an official told the media outlet.
