KARACHI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday said that Karachi is the engine of national economy and deserves even better security environment, so that positive business trajectory is maintained.
The army chief said this while visiting the headquarters of Pakistan Rangers Sindh, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to the ISPR, the Sindh Rangers director general gave detailed briefing to the army chief about the security situation in Sindh, including the law and order in the provincial capital.
The army chief appreciated efforts of the Sindh Rangers and all other law enforcement agencies for improved security environment in the port city.
“Karachi is the engine of national economy and we shall further improve its security environment so that positive business trajectory is maintained,” said Gen Qamar.
Karachi Corps Commander Lieutenant General Humayun Aziz accompanied the army chief.
