ISLAMABAD: A 15-year-old girl and her 27-year-old cousin were allegedly killed by two men on Friday in Shangla’s Martung district with police treating the case as ‘honour killing’.
According to Puran Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Zerab Gul, the two men, both brothers, suspected their sister and cousin to be involved in a relationship and killed them over ‘honour’.
The 27-year-old was identified as Said Muhammad, who was a father of four children.
According to locals, a Jirga was convened over the matter one week ago which had decided that the girl and the man should be married together.
Said Muhammad’s father Khan Said informed police that his son was killed while he was working in the field.
The suspects then went back home and murdered their sister, Said told police.
According to the SDPO, the duo fled the crime scene but an investigation into the matter is currently underway.
