Southern Command Commander Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa has reiterated the military’s commitment to facilitate Balochistan in “every possible way”, a private media outlet reported Friday.
“The army has worked tirelessly to achieve peace and prosperity in the country,” the report quoted the military official as saying.
Addressing a ceremony in Chaman, Gen Bajwa further said that the era of development in Balochistan had begun and people in the province long for peace. “Wherever we go, people ask for good educational institutions and schools,” he said.
On October 17, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan had said that Quetta was re-emerging as one of the peaceful cities of the country due to the sacrifices rendered by security forces and courage shown by the citizens.
Lauding the army’s assistance in providing modern training to the Balochistan police, the chief minister had added that the provincial government was conducting training courses for police under the command of the army which yielded positive results.
