ISLAMABAD: The district administration of Islamabad has imposed a ban on the advertisements of illegal housing societies, public gathering and religious gatherings as well as fireworks, wall chalking, and use an of a loudspeaker in the federal capital.
As per media reports, the ban which has been slapped under Section-144 prohibits the advertisement of illegal housing societies on all mediums and also public and religious gatherings in addition to the display of banners fomenting sectarianism, wall chalkings, distribution of pamphlets, use of sound systems, fireworks, and mountain digging.
According to the notification issued by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hamza Shafqaat, housing societies extort huge amounts from citizens through fraudulent and illegal advertisements, therefore, a ban has been imposed on their advertisements as well as buying and selling activities.
The notification also states that a ban has been imposed on CDs and DVDs used for sectarianism.
All restrictions will remain in place for two months and a strict action will be taken against the violators.
