Mohsin Hamid, Kamila Shamsie nominated for DSC Prize for South Asian Literature

Pakistani authors Kamila Shamsie, Mohsin Hamid have been nominated for the DSC Prize for South Asian Literature. Kamila’s seventh novel Home Fire and Hamid’s Exit West, which was also shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize, have been selected to compete with four other authors.

The winner will be receive a prize of $25,000.

The annual international literary award honours authors writing about South Asia and its people.

Other contenders for the award are Indian authors Jayant Kaikini for No Presents Please, Manu Joseph for Miss Laila Armed And Dangerous, Neel Mukherjee for A State Of Freedom, and Sujit Saraf for Harilal & Sons.
