Witnesses in fake accounts probe missing, SC informed

Two individuals to whom the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had issued summons over its money laundering probe disappeared, the Supreme Court was informed on Monday, a local media outlet reported.

A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar issued a notice to Inspector General of Sindh Police Kaleem Imam over the matter.

“Let us ask from the IG Sindh whether they have disappeared on their own or someone has abducted them,” the CJP remarked.

The two individuals, identified as Mohammad Bashir and Abdul Jabbar, went missing after they were summoned over the investigation.

According to senior counsel Sardar Muhammad Aslam, armed men abducted both witnesses.
