Qaim Ali Shah files request for pre-arrest bail

KARACHI: Former Sindh chief minister Qaim Ali Shah on Tuesday filed a request for a pre-arrest bail in the Sindh High Court in a case relating to illegal allotment of land.

The former chief minister in his application wrote that he will comply with the accountability watchdog but he does not want to be arrested.

“I have no issue with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) conducting an investigation but it is requested to not arrest me,” his application read.

NAB is investigating the illegal allotment of land in Malir Development Authority.

Shah was summoned in the case on November 2 but he refused to appear for the hearing.

According to a NAB source, the first two reports bore no mention of Shah. However, his name appeared in the third report leading to his summon.
