LAHORE: Despite the passage of over one month, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) inquiry report on party leader Rana Mashud’s comments about Shehbaz Sharif having reached an agreement with the establishment has not been released, a local media outlet reported on Monday.
During an interview, Mashud had claimed that Shehbaz Sharif had reached an agreement with the establishment to ease the situation for the party.
In response, the PML-N distanced itself from the comments, suspended Mashud’s membership and formed a three-member committee on October 3 to probe the matter.
The committee was instructed to submit its report within two weeks but no such report has yet been submitted, leading to speculations that the time-frame for the inquiry was deliberately designed to sweep the matter under the rug.
However, the party spokesperson said that “the inquiry team has conducted a few meetings and is in the process of collecting evidence and statements”.
