PESHAWAR:  Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Shah Farman on Monday directed all provincial universities to justify budget before presenting in the Senate meeting for approval.

The budget of the universities would not be approved before financial audit and justification, he warned, while chairing third Senate meeting of the Women University Swabi at Governor House.

He directed that in every fiscal year, the budget must be prepared and presented by mid of May in the Senate meeting for approval.

The approval of the budget would not be granted to those universities who would not get their prior financial audit done, he warned.

The governor said that the faculty members of all the universities should also focus on character building of students besides their professional obligations.

He further said that any illegal and against-the-merit recruitment would not be tolerated at any cast.

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr Khanzadi Fatima Khattak briefed the Senate about the academic and administrative affairs of the university. In the briefing, she said that the construction work on the main campus was in full swing and was nearing completion.

Later, the Senate approved the current fiscal budget of the university.

The Senate meeting was attended by the Principal Secretary to Governor Nizamud Din, Higher Education Department Secretary Manzoor Ahmad, Vice Chancellor Dr Khanzadi Fatima Khattak and others.
