ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday dismissed a plea seeking disqualification of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Murtaza Javed Abbasi.
Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza conducted the hearing.
During the course of proceedings, the defence argued that Murtaza was holding only 88 shares out of Kohistan Flour Mill’s 3,000.
Murtaza’s lawyer further said that the price of gold mentioned by his client was the one it was purchased at – Rs5,000 per tola.
It is worth mentioning here that the petition filed against the PML-N leader stated that he was a tax defaulter and had not disclosed all his assets.
