Pakistan opener Imamul Haq on Friday walked off the field after he was hit on the helmet by Lockie Ferguson in the second innings of the second ODI against New Zealand at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
During the 12th over, Imam was struck on the grille by a fast bouncer. He couldn’t gather his balance despite a short break and help from the physiotherapist.

Before being declared retired hurt on 16, Imam got up to bat but failed to maintain balance. He was later taken to a hospital via an ambulance for scans.
The PCB is yet to convey the status of Imam’s injury. The opening pair of Imam and Fakhar Zaman added 54 for the first-wicket partnership.
Pakistani fast-bowlers restricted New Zealand to 209 runs after 50 overs on Friday after the tourists chose to bat first in the second and deciding ODI.
Shaheen Shah Afridi led the charge, picking up four wickets for 38 runs as he disintegrated the Kiwis’ middle-order. Hassan Ali picked up two wickets for 59 runs.
Ross Taylor top-scored with a 120-ball 86 and Henry Nicholls made 33 off 63 balls and together added 75 for the fifth wicket to lift their team from 73-4.
For Pakistan, all-rounder Faheem Ashraf replaced fast bowler Junaid Khan, who is suffering from an infection in his right foot toe. Junaid has also been ruled out of the third ODI against New Zealand.
