LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) leader and son of Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Shehbaz appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday.

Both Hamza and his brother Salman Shehbaz were summoned by the anti-graft body over allegations of holdings assets beyond their declared sources of income.

While Salman did not appear before NAB since he is currently in London, Hamza appeared over the case on Friday in Lahore.

According to reports, three deputy directors from NAB’s intelligence, prosecution and investigation questioned Hamza.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) earlier this month granted protective bail to Hamza, directing authorities to avoid arresting him before November 13, when the next hearing is scheduled.

Both Hamza and Salman were previously summoned by the anti-graft body over allegations that a bridge costing at least Rs200 million was constructed for Ramzan Sugar Mills with government funds.

According to reports, Shehbaz Sharif had given illegal orders for the construction.

Hamza is already under scrutiny over the Punjab Saaf Paani Company case and has appeared before the anti-graft body a number of times.

On the other hand, Salman is being investigated for owning assets beyond stated means of income. He has also appeared before NAB a number of times.

Shehbaz Sharif has been in NAB’s custody since October 5 over Ashiana Iqbal Housing Scheme scandal.
