KARACHI: A World Bank (WB) delegation met with Minister for Local Government and Kacchi Abadies Saeed Ghani on Thursday and briefed him on the modernisation efforts of water and sewerage system in Karachi and a project of WSSIP’s project for the purpose.
The delegation assured Ghani with investment by the World Bank in these sectors.
The four-member delegation was led by Senior Water Resource Management Specialist Andres Rodi, Senior Water and Sanitation Specialist Farhan Ullah Sami, Associate Investment Officer Sarah Afridi and Water Resource Specialist Basharat Saeed.
The provincial minister asked for details of the concerned projects from Water Board MD and other officials and instructed them to complete a comprehensive feasibility report and prepare PC1 in this regard. He stressed for the rapid practical work to complete the project.
Ghani also agreed with the suggestions from the delegation for administrative reforms.
Local Government Secretary Khalid Haider Shah, Water Board MD Khalid Sheikh, Planning Water Board DMDAyub Sheikh, Investment Karachi and Sewerage Services Improvement Director Muhammad Shakeel Qureshi and others also attended the meeting.
