Met office forecasts up to 70 pc higher rainfall in November

ISLAMABAD: The northern parts of Pakistan are likely to receive 60 to 70 per cent more rainfall than usual in the month of November this year, according to the Meteorological Department’s statement on Thursday.

In its weather outlook report released for this month, the Met Office said that two or three spells of light to moderate rainfall as well as snow over hilly areas were expected in the northern half of the country.

“Southern parts of the country are likely to receive normal rainfall this month,” the Met Office said according to a private news channel.

There is also a continuation of temperature above normal levels over the central and southern parts of the country.

Fog and smog are likely to prevail in the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and upper Sindh, while drought prevailing conditions could continue and even intensify in other parts of Sindh and the southwest of Balochistan.
