A man had his bank account hacked after he was tricked into revealing his bank account details over a phone call.
According to reports, Muhammad Abdullah got a call from an unidentified individual on his cellphone who claimed to be speaking from the head office of a bank and asked him for his bank account details, ATM number, PIN code, CNIC.
Abdullah added that he trusted the caller and revealed the information, however, when he checked his account, it was empty.
“All the money had been withdrawn via an ATM,” he lamented, adding that he had been saving for his daughter’s wedding.
He revealed that he had lodged a complaint with his bank manager and local law enforcement officials, however, no action was taken to rectify the situation.
Abdullah said that he worked hard to save money for his daughter’s wedding. He appealed to authorities to arrest the culprits and recover the looted amount.
